Serious Rain

Rain isn't for the lighthearted, so they say.  FInd yourself disagreeing?  Perhaps first recollect the memory of true rain.  The tough stuff; heavy and deafening and ruthless, not to mention freezing.  It's not your average Seattle morning as you count the precise number of raindrops that decided to plop, deadweight, into your soy latte.  Not even light showers of April that leave pansies glistening in the morning sun.  No.
Serious rain.
We're talking that pre-thunderstorm jazz; drops packing a punch to your skin and drowning your ears.  Eyes are blinded, everything soaked in a precise pattern of pitter-patter, pitter-patter.  Goosebumps arise, bulging, as if your pores were gulping down Mother Nature's tears.  Violent shaking occurs as the body's way to preserve the only ounce of warmth you may still have left.  Now that's rain.  Serious rain.
