So, here I am, on the Condor Express Trainline, thinking of him like he'd just closed the door.  The dim lights glow, casting eerie shadows on fellow passengers like a spaceship in an open field.  In my suitcase, among a week's worth of clothes and toiletries, to which I'm still not sure why I packed them to this day, was my cd player.  I seldom listened to music, but like I tell my patients getting MRIs, music calms the mind, and I'd prefer to think that what I was taught to say wasn't a lie.
One of the only cds I had: Adam's.  Only him, guitar and voice.  He even produced it himself.  But, he's not aware that I have one.  He kept the files on the only computer in the house, so when I stumbled upon them a few months after he'd gone, I'd figured it'd be a grieving device of sorts.  He'll come back when he's ready, I'd thought.  Seemed convincing at the time.
I'd searched for him, all the usual places you'd think a sixteen year-old boy would go.  Even to... even to the places a junkie would go, and that took something from me.  I went to the woods, down to "the Pit", a hangout for... them.  A couple of my patients talked about it, all teenagers.  Three kids, I'd say nineteen or so, were slumped against eachother while the fire burned on.  No Adam.  I took the bucket laying next to the blaze and threw the water on.  They looked so young in the moonlight...
But never mind that now.  Relax... while you can.

...And although one day in unearthly places
may our souls reside,
The sun will shine on the battlefield
and the life of the fight will die...

Before I knew it, I was out cold.  I awoke to the jolt of the train lurching back and releasing it's beastly wail, announcing it's arrival.  Only a few blocks to the airport.  I exited the station and noticed as the door opened that a light drizzle started to dust the city streets.  As the numbered streets went by, the pitter-patter parading down the streets prominently turned to pounding.  Running down the street, I took refuge in a busstop and waited out the storm.
On a roll today...
Tell me if it seems rushed; I know it's short. It's just I feel all of my chapters so far have had those quirky kind of endings where they were intentionally quirky just so it was a nice place to end when reading it. Ya know?

Oh, and just a notice. FROM NOW ON- I'm changing Adam and his father's surname to Sylvurbern instead of Gontier. It makes the sotry feel less dependent on the inspiration the real Adam Gontier's given me.
